The short story

We are looking for someone who understands companies and organisations, who finds their own way to the right people, and who can then sit down with an entrepreneur, CEO or CFO, listen well and quickly grasp how an organisation works today. From there you help the client see a better way of working, and show how Blue River can make it happen.

Where does it get stuck? Which information is missing? Why does invoicing take too long? Why is planning difficult? Why does management not fully trust the numbers?

We are also looking for someone who helps build a strong, structural sales approach at Blue River itself. From there you think along on questions such as: what is the next step to grow? How do we make our sales funnel more predictable? Which tools and profiles do we need for that? What do we steer our sales people on?

So we are not simply looking for someone who sells. You are above all a sparring partner with commercial talent, for clients but equally for Blue River itself.

02

What does Blue River do?

Blue River helps companies and NGOs/non-profits make their organisation easier to steer. We always look first at how an organisation can grow and steer better, and only then at which technology fits. Our foundation is ERP implementations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Our added value lies in the expertise to connect that ERP foundation to the systems that already work well for the client:

  • their CRM system (e.g. HubSpot)
  • their planning tool (e.g. Float)
  • Power BI for reporting
  • Microsoft 365
  • AI tools

Just as important is how we approach it. We let the client move at their own pace, keep what already works well instead of turning everything upside down, and make sure they move forward faster than their competitors, thanks to our deep finance and business process knowledge.

Your role

You are a figurehead for Blue River, and the role goes beyond the introduction itself: you make sure you reach the right people within a company or organisation and build the relationship from there. You do not try to sell straight away but to understand first, and translate that into a concrete solution.

Concretely:

  • you actively find and approach the right people within companies and organisations (prospecting, networking, the first contact) and build trust and a relationship from there, also without an immediate sales angle
  • you build a real sales organisation at Blue River, by further developing and using both an existing and a new network
  • you have conversations with CEOs, CFOs and operational managers, and thoroughly analyse how their organisation works today, including the pain points behind processes, systems and reporting
  • you think along about how that organisation can work more simply and better, and translate those needs together with our team into a concrete Blue River solution
  • you give demos and presentations, build proposals and business cases, and guide potential clients from the first conversation to the decision
  • you actively think along about how we can further improve our own propositions and approach

You do not need to be a technical consultant, but you do need to be able to explain why you would connect CRM and ERP, link projects and timesheets to invoicing, and bring finance and operational data together in one consistent reporting layer. In short: why you standardise processes before automating, and get data in order before deploying AI.

Who we are looking for

We are not only looking for someone who fits perfectly into what we already do today. Above all we are looking for someone who helps pull the cart: who stands next to us, who can do things we cannot do yet, and who brings their own strengths and network to move Blue River forward.

It is also someone who likes to think along and to convince:

  • commercially strong, without being a typical hard-sell seller, and builds trust with entrepreneurs and management teams
  • enjoys conversations about how companies function, and quickly understands business processes
  • analytical, with an eye for the right questions, and able to explain complex solutions simply
  • has affinity with technology, ERP, CRM, data and AI
  • spots opportunities independently, takes initiative, and gets energy from helping build a company

Today you might work as a business consultant, an ERP or software consultant with commercial feeling, a solution consultant, a presales consultant, a business developer in B2B software, an account executive in a consultative sales environment, or a management consultant who wants to be closer to clients and commerce. Or your background is entirely different, but you strongly recognise yourself in this way of working.

05

Experience & compensation

This role is open to two types of profiles:

  • Starting, promising profile: a highly capable person who wants to throw themselves fully into this role and go for it.
  • Experienced profile: someone with more experience, from whom we may accordingly also expect results, efficiency and growth.

Compensation is aligned with your experience and profile, and we are happy to discuss this in a personal conversation. You also get a lot of freedom to shape this role yourself (towards clients and internally), real growth opportunities within a growing company, the possibility of share options in line with your effort and results, and an environment in which you help write the Blue River story.
